George E. McDonald Hall of Justice
The George E. McDonald Hall of Justice was named after an Alameda Municipal Court judge who served from 1964 to 1984 and who died in 2016.

Parking:
Parking is difficult to find. There is little street parking available, although there is a parking garage opposite the courthouse. There is also metered parking behind the courthouse, although the meters have two-hour limits.
Public Transportation:
The Hayward BART station is closest to the courthouse, though it is 1.2 miles away. AC Transit has busses that run from BART to the courthouse, and also offers other routes to the courthouse. Rene C. Davidson Courthouse
The building called the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse housed the Alameda Clerk-County Recorder from 1934 to 2000. It was named after a longtime County Recorder.

Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse
The Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse was named after an associate justice of the California Supreme Court, who served from 1977 to 1981 and who was the first African American to sit on the state’s Supreme Court.
